WAOW LIVEABOARD ( Spring 2012 )

With more than 13 500 Islands, The Indonesian Archipelago is one of the largest on the planet. With volcanic origins and positioned between the Indian and Pacific Oceans, the tropical climate and proximity to the equator creates a natural converging crossroad for multiple marine species.

The Archipelago consists of 5 main Seas : Arufa, Java, Banda, Celebes and Molucca. The currents of these seas transport all the necessary nutrients for the development of uncountable coral gardens which make up the reputation of Indonesian diving.

An extraordinary exploration awaits you onboard Waow, with original itineraries, some of which being far off the beaten tracks. Chosen from the 11 proposed itineraries, the 6 exclusive charters will transport you into the magic of Indonesian diving.

The WAOW

Constructed entirely in wood in the tradition of the "pinisi", Indonesian transport ships with more of an adaptation to the American Schooners of the 1800's, the hull and superstructure are constructed of Iron Wood, the finishing is in teak and other local woods to create a tropical spirit and feel. The WAOW will be launched in Spring 2012.

Although the ship is built in a traditional manner, the final fit out will be completed in Bali Indonesia. It is our intention to finish the vessel to the highest standards of modern boat building. These areas will include the equipment put onboard, the environmentally conscious methods, the safety and navigation equipment and the levels of comfort expected of a modern charter vessel.

WAOW has 9 cabins available catering for a guest list of 18 passengers*. Each of the cabins is luxurious, spacious and provides all of the amenities expected of a vessel of this standing. The disposition of the cabins is as follows:

  • 6 "Deluxe" cabins each of approximately 23m2 located below the main deck. This is a size well above that proposed on most charter vessels, especially sailing vessels. ¨

Diving in Indonesia

At this destination we propose dives with air and/orLogo Nitrox simple.

More than 13'500 Islands of volcanic origin make up the Indonesian Archipelago. These islands protect 10% of the reefs found on the planet. With a variety of diving second to none, we find coral plateaus, drop offs, pinnacles, arches and black sands providing shelter to an incredible biodiversity of fauna. Differing dive sites and zones may be explored all year round to admire more than 3200 species of fish and more than 600 of coral. More and more species continue to be discovered each year by scientists, notably in the region of Raja Ampat. From the miniscule pygmy sea horse to the massive sperm whale , everything can be seen in Indonesia. Celebrated for the intense colors and the rare macro fauna that they shelter, the Indonesian coral gardens also share their home with vertical drop offs, sharks, rays, whales, pelagics, turtles and the giant ocean sunfish.

Your cruise aboard Waow will permit you to explore an incredible collection of reputed dive sites in addition to zones where certain sites are rarely dived or remain unexplored.
